Detalles de la observación
On Halloween afternoon there were only a few birders present. The Pipit was in its favorite location (opposite the Treeview bridge below trees before the trail). At one point it was me and another birder, and following Curtis' advice we stayed in one place and the bird came within 1.8 m, allowing excellent close up imaging. I have seen the bird several times this week and noted the following. (1) Depending on the lighting the cheek, throat, and upper chest can appear pure white or buffy. If the light is right the throat is creamy orange/yellow. However, the spot behind the ear that is above the black spot is always white. (2) the back is a rich olive green. (3) While I have seen it jump for a fly (see https://www.flickr.com/photos/25876581@N00/54887477866/in/dateposted-public) or grab a worm it mostly likes these small round berries? I attach a berry picture and one other. More are found at https://www.flickr.com/photos/25876581@N00/with/54891421737
