Detalles de la observación
Totally unexpected ! Have spent hours looking for this bird over last three years but when you least expect it- voila ! Multiple great looks as bird foraged actively, mostly in dead Goldenrod and Aster tops, associating with a mixed flock of DEJU, BCCH and WTSP. Often hovered while probing in dry flowers and leaves. Small active warbler with a thin white eye ring broken by a distinctive thin black eye line under a white supercillium. Dark thin beak. Grayish head and upper body more of an olive gray. Noticed blurry streaking on a lighter breast and some yellow wash on the flanks. No wing bars but noticeable black along margin of wings when folded. Tail dark. Undertail coverts medium yellow and clearly the brighter part of the bird. Above description suggests the Taiga population form. Poor quality iPhone photo. Also have a one minute iPhone video with some more convincing ID evidence and foraging behavior .
