Detalles de la observación
Initially (during the first first hour) I heard Yellow-browed’s “sooweet” calling with response from a second bird several times and then I heard the more powerful, deeper-noted disyllabic call of the Hume’s but never more than three times in a row. During this time I saw at least two Yellow-browed’s several times from below, in the Sycamores in the copse, noting gleaming clean white underparts and on one bird green edges to the folded wing where it met the breast and obvious bright double wing bars. Then I got a call to say the Hume’s was being seen in the hedge about fifty metres along garden Drove that lead north to the copse and ran up there to check it out. At first the bird was lost but then relocated again where it showed well, briefly revealing its overall dusky plumage (above and below) compared to a “fresh” Yellow-browed. Most importantly I noted the buff-coloured single wing bar. The bird then flew back into the copse, but not before a great photo of it was taken by a sharp photographer called Adam, who promised to post it on Instagram. He kindly allowed me to screen grab his image which I post here…
