Detalles de la observación
Conservative estimate of birds that packed the powerlines along the entire length of the Peters Road flats. The majority were Violet-green Swallows, with lesser numbers of Tree Swallows and a few Barn Swallows as well. Possibly some Bank Swallows, but none positively identified. Many birds landed on the roadway, likely foraging for ants and other insects. This location is always a magnet for swallows that gather prior to migration, but this is the most I've ever observed at one time- an impressive spectacle indeed!
