BBCAs are displaying at a lek. There are several males high in the larches at 1700m. The males are clicking as they raise their bills skyward, their tails cocked and fanned. We saw no females this morning. They had already started when we arrived ca. 4:15am. Background includes: a distant Common Cuckoo. Recorded with a Zoom-F3, using a Sennheiser ME67 and foam windscreen.

lek display from at least 0415 hours involving at least three birds, two seen extremely well at length; two more males seen to fly in as well; no females seen; lekking went on for over two hours; a much-wanted lifer for all!
