Detalles de la observación
*very rare from land and rare generally, but prone to this sort of thing I think. Found by Elias earlier in the day. Foraging in the shallow water north of the inlet, on the west side, as seen from the west side of the inlet. Phalarope with dark mask, pale gray back, and blunt (less needle-like) bill. The pale gray back contrasted with very bleached and worn greater coverts and also medium bleached primaries. The bird was surprisingly ungainly as it walked through the shallows, almost appearing duck like as it waddled. Every time it lifted its left leg, it raised the entire left side of its body, and the same would repeat on the right. I watched it twice nip the ankles of a GRYE but it was otherwise solitary. County bird for me!
