First picked up at 1235, soaring high on a thermal and fighting strong WNW winds, lingered for quite a few minutes on several thermals before it disappeared to the NW. Huge soaring bird with long, broad and square wings, long neck held straight out from body with a bulbous head and long dagger of a bill, short tail, long legs and noticeable big feet held held straight out behind body. Deep and slow wingbeats frequently interrupting soaring as it struggled with the wind. Photos.
