White rump visible
Detalles de la observación
Photos. Continuing for this location. First reported by Kevin Markham yesterday. Not seen in flight, but white rump captured in photos. Overall light / warm rufous above and white below. Lower mandible base potentially had an orange color. Initially thought SESA because of the black legs, but size was a little larger, later confirmed by others with the presence of a lone LESA. Wings extended a little beyond base with a black primary tips. Under parts white. Bill black / dark with previously mentioned orange base to lower mandible. Light Supercilium, but not white. Stretched from base of bill to behind the eye. Dark eye stripe extending from the base of the bill, through the eye and behind to where the supercilium ends. Lores dark. Faint white / light eye ring. Crown rufous light brown with speckles. Neck had fine speckling which became less dense and more pronounced towards the breast and flanks. Legs dark to black. Belly and vent area mostly white with occasional dark marks. Spent about 30 minutes with the bird which remained in a flooded area by the lake. Seemed to equally like the grassy fringes as well as the exposed mud. Very tolerant of us humans that were about 20-30 yards away.
