Detalles de la observación
On April 28, I chased and missed the Pomponio State Beach (PSB) LBBG which Noah Arthur found on April 23. That the bird resurfaced 2 hours after I folded my search was a massive kick in the nuts. Anyway, fast forward to today, when conditions were ripe for another try. Arriving at San Gregorio State Beach (SGSB), I scanned a loose flock of ~50 gulls without suggestion of the LBBG. Continuing south to PSB, I found a sorry ass flock of ~35 gulls, the LBBG not among them. I killed ~40 mins seawatching and screwing around and returned north to SGSB to find a larger gull flock had assembled in the intervening hour. One my third scan of the group, this bird jumped out to me. Interestingly, this is NOT the above reference Arthur/Pomponio bird because that bird has dark eyes and a much yellower bill. So, that means there are two 2nd cycle LBBGs in the Pomponio/San Gregorio vicinity.
