Detalles de la observación
1 apparent Vesper Sparrow seen 2x's along the N. side of Loasa Rd. along with a few White-crowned Sparrows, 1 of which appears in the upper l. of the one photo made of the Vesper, with apparently this same bird seen ~50 m. to the W. within the previous 5 min. The photo shows a sparrow near the size of the adjacent White-crowned Sparrow, with a gray head and nape, finely streaked crown, thin white eyering, dark postocular and lower face stripe nearly outlining an auricular patch, darkly streaked gray upperparts, gray and brown wings, streaked white underparts, a fairly long round tipped tail, and dull gray flesh colored legs. The grayish bill and dark eye are also visible. The size was larger than expected for a Lincoln's Sparrow without the rusty crown and face pattern of Lincoln's, and lacking the extensive buffy of the underparts, as well as the ragged semi- crest of Lincoln's. The longer tail than expected for Lincoln's is also apparent, and in the earlier, unphotographed view, the rather plain, gray brown upperparts were more fully seen than appears in the photo.
