This sparrow is somehow surviving this winter. It was there first thing this morning on a very cold and windy day. Temperature is -23 C with a windchill of -34. Although it prefers to feed on the ground, the sparrow will use the feeder I have on a pole outside my window. This sparrow is defying the odds, in my eyes. Everytime I see it fly in, I am happy and amazed that it is hanging in through the entire winter.
