Dark brown with white speckling on the neck and belly, and some white showing underwing. White strip on rump. Giant thick, long dark bill. Kind of bulging popping eyes. Dwarfed the Herring gulls with long, thin pointed wings as it flew low and almost skimmed the water. Magnificent. Remarkable find by Sarah Preston.
