Rare, but we had a Brant at Nu`upia Ponds (nearby) in Feb 2024. Small dark Branta goose with neck ring. I think the markings on the coverts indicate a first-year bird. Younger juvenile birds lack a prominent neck ring, and fully adult birds usually lack the white crescents on the coverts. The bird spends some time resting in the pickleweed, when it may not be visible. See poor quality photo via iPhone
