*uncommon, but not unexpected, over deep water in this region. Used to be considered exceptionally rare off the Northeast US, but the influx of deep water overnight pelagic trips over the past decade has shown that they are regular, and that the species lives out here for at least half the year. Appearances at 06:12 at 06:47. Photos show that, despite our hunches at the time, it was the same individual. Photos, video.
