Not a very long clip, two chirps, but that is the best we got.
Detalles de la observación
Newport Back Bay, Big Canyon trail. We observed the Sora from the bridge over the fresh water stream flowing from Big Canyon into Newport Back Bay. There were probably 2 and both appeared to be juveniles. They were in amongst the cattails and bushes along the bank of the slowly flowing stream as it entered the small waterfall. Clearly a Sora, brown head, with a darker brown cap. Feathers on back were with black and white speckles. Light brown chest, to lighter beige underbelly, with dark and light brown striped sides intermixed with black flecks in the feathers. Short upright tail, short orangish beak, and yellow legs with very long toes. Appeared very shy, but came out when we did a recorded call. Two people observed it working in and out of the cattails and bushes for a good 10 minutes. No other rail with that coloring, short beak yellow legs with long toes. Definitely not a Yellow Rail either.
