Detalles de la observación
While scoping the lake from the deck right at sunset, heard a buzz that sounded like a hummingbird coming from adjacent flowering shrub. First thought was that RTHU must be the expected species, but this sure sounded a lot like the buzzy sound i am familiar with from BC beaches and mountain clearcuts made by RUHU. Shortly after diverting my attention away from the scope got a clear view of a male RUHU with bright red/orange gorget contrasting with white breast band, orange back. After getting this poor but definitive look, stopped to make a recording of the wing buzz before running inside for camera. Unfortunately struggled in the fading light and failed to get pics before bird was flushed by a pesky barn cat to not return. Fingers crossed this bird shows up in the morning
