Including DOZER, the satellite tagged Long-billed Curlew, who is back for his 5th season on the Central Coast. He arrived at Morro Strand State Beach on June 17, 2024. Since his arrival is early, he and his mate Mimi may not have had a successful breeding season (C.C.)
Dozer was first observed today in a group of Long-billed Curlews in the dry sand in front of the Alva Paul Creek mouth/lagoon. After the group was seen flying towards the ocean, Dozer was later refound at the edge of the Alva Paul Creek mouth, preening and then settling in for a nap.
