Detalles de la observación
Bird previously seen at this location by Dan B. In vegetation along brook. Bright yellow bill and legs. Brown on top of its head down back of neck. Gray above eye and black on face and top of chest. Wings mostly brown, speckled with white and black. I have attached two photos which, though of poor quality, I think adequately confirm observation. After I snapped the photo, the sora crossed the brook along some reeds which pass over the brook. I then heard it call only once from a little deeper in the vegetation when I could no longer see it. Unfortunately I was not recording at that time. In order to access this site, park at the St. James Lutheran Church on York St. The Brook runs along the north side of the church property, though you will need to cross York St. to see the spot where I found the bird as it is across the street from the Church. Please note two cautions. First, York St. is a narrow, busy street on which most people drive too fast. For your own safety maintain a hyper vigilance with regard to when cars are passing by. Second, you are most likely going to be standing in poison ivy when you look down on the brook.
