***MEGA*** bird found by Marcie Jacklin who ID and relayed alert with nice views. I arrived and bird was hiding in East quarry pond and flew up into dead snag. Very distant record shots with heavy crop obtained. Can make out this is a breeding plumage adult. Notice dark blue bill with black tip and scope views showed massive bill in proportion to the body size. Comparison with GBHE and GREG this bird was overall small comparably. Nice blue feathering of breast with a white belly, white plume on rear of head better observed with scope. Dull yellow legs. Flight photos with white underwing and dark blue secondary and primary trailing edge. Thanks Marcie and also Farnans for scope views.
