Detalles de la observación
My first bird at the parking lot was a harbinger of a major migration fallout. Adult males are outrageously multi-colored but females and immature males are usually indistinguishable. Here the fresh primary coverts suggest an adult female. "P. c. pallidior" is the smaller, paler western race. Populations along the east coast are larger and darker, but there is overlap. Both populations are seriously declining with indiscriminate trapping for the pet trade, especially in Mexico, a likely cause of their continuing decline
