Gathering nesting materials ( dead plant husk, spider web
Detalles de la observación
Was looking for a Northern Parula when I noticed some movement very close to ground. A beautiful female Scarlet tanager was collecting nesting materials. Grabbed a section of a dead plant husk and flew up into the canopy. That was cool I thought. Walked to the Deer exclosure area and upon return I saw her again. She was hopping between shrubs about 10 feet from the trail. A mountain bike went by and she could of cared less. I followed her for about 2 minutes before she found what she was looking for, a rather large spider web. She began gather as much as she could, before flying directly past me. Pictures show female gathering dead plant husk and spider web for nesting material.
