Detalles de la observación
First bird photographed alone at 14:40 Dark bill tip on a white chinned petrel looking bird. I called as white chinned at the time, but on review of the shots on multiple cameras and multiple angles, dark bill tip is present. Bird made one pass and then vanished. Second and third birds came in to burley some time later with white chinned petrel, one with a very dark bill tip, and the other with a lighter bill tip which was called as a possible black petrel, however the structure better fits Westland.. Ultimately all 3 birds were identified as Westland. Birds were all stocky and heavyset, and all had short bull-necks suggesting Westland over Black Petrel. Photos taken.
