A fantastic adult gave exceptional views near other skuas and a flock of Black-headed Gulls and was still there while we were leaving. Heavy, compact bird with thick wings and broad tail. Slightly larger than Arctic, making it easy to track in field. Prominent double underwing bars. Thick brown collar around the neck. Photographed.
