A Scrub Nightjar sings after dark near our campsite in acacia-cactus woodland with fairly dense understory a bit W of El Tocto. A Peruvian Screech-Owl sings once in the background. After playback the nightjar flew in close, called once explosively, and then gave additional calls from a bit farther away. On a calm, heavily cloudy night, but with no rain. I'm not sure what the source of the popping sounds was in the second cut. Digitized from original tape recording on a Sony TCM5000, using a Sennheiser ME60 series mic with a Mineroff booster & foam windscreen.
