Detalles de la observación
*Rare and thoroughly random. Adult. Spotted around 11:15 on a scan of the far side of the lake, clearly a very large and dark raptor with broad wings and a noticeable dihedral. Proportions wrong for BAEA with small head, long tail, and more rounded wings; also distinguished by the dihedral, lack of white in the plumage. Figured it would be a newly arrived TUVU but flying too steadily and built more like a hawk, along with the dark (not silvery) remiges. Snagged some bad distant pics that managed to capture the golden nape and slightly lighter tail base; will add tonight
