Detalles de la observación
A most strange situation. One, and only one, was the feeders. Photos and video, below, of the bird. We also saw a flock along South Fork Dr., but only 5+ birds (maybe up to 10?). I wonder if there was a mass mortality event with the onset of the extreme cold. The three images, below, are of the individual, an adult male (by eye color), at and near the feeder. ML613483706. The Bushtit is shown here in more or less "normal" Bushtit mode. But it also fed frantically in weeds by the trail and also on the trail. See the next two entries. ML613483712. Here I believe it is feeding on seedheads. But maybe it is finding tiny arthropods. Sorry about the haze and mist; conditions were trying. ML613483718. Close-up of the same behavior as in ML613483712.
