Parakeet drinking rainwater collected at the bottom of tulip flowers. mixed colors noticed on the head, assuming to be a juvenile male yet to show its plumage.
Detalles de la observación
The african tulip/fountain tree served its namesake purpose. A flock of plum-headed parakeets landed on the tree. The cup-like flowers of the tree were in bloom and were holding water. Noticed birds dipping their beaks deep into the flower-cups and drinking water settled at the bottom of the flower. If water is not reachable, they are tearing out the petals for better access to fit their bodies. Adding video documentation of the act.
