The bird in question is on the far left, leading the group, with two Franklin's Gulls trailing behind and a Ring-billed Gull in the background
Detalles de la observación
We think this bird is a Laughing Gull, but we're not sure. The bird caught our attention because it had a much larger droopy black bill compared to the nearby Franklin's Gulls, was somewhat larger than the Franklin's, and had ear muffs (gray smudging on the head and behind the eye) like a Bonaparte's, but was too large a bird to be a Bonaparte's. The wings were darkish (medium gray) like Franklin's. Jim Malone may have an opinion one way or the other, as he saw the bird, too.
