At least three call types recorded from the Mariana swiftlet during this recording. Most frequent call is a somewhat long squeak/creak, heard first from 0:01-0:04, and then consistently throughout the recording. Occasional echolocation clicks can also be heard scattered throughout the recording. Towards the end of the recording (7:00-7:01), single-note squeak calls can be heard from a swiftlet. This recording also contains some wing flapping sounds (e.g. 6:58) as birds flew near the microphone.
Detalles de la observación
Birds flying outside of known roosting cave entrance. Assumed aerial foraging taking place, and perhaps some social interactions before most birds return to cave to roost for the night. We did not count the number of birds present, but many tens of birds were seen during this brief period.
