At 9:30 am, a neighbor texted me about a strange little bird with a long beak and long legs in her yard. Here are a couple of her photos. We texted awhile, and she reported it went down to the rocks, then swam around their dock. I went over before lunch and saw it very briefly among the rocks. Since the bird couldn't fly, I think adults must have nested here.
