Detalles de la observación
The Bell’s Vireo was in a patch of sandbar willow about 700 feet upstream from the pipe crossing the river at the end of Newcomb Ave. After seeing it briefly a few times and beginning to think that it might be a Bell’s it conveniently broke out into full song to clinch its identity. I then took a video when I couldn’t see the bird to get a recording of its voice. After that I saw the bird a few more times as I followed it downstream a short ways and lost it. It seemed to be a typical western Bell’s Vireo, very gray, two white weak wingbars, broken eye-ring, and pale lores. I think the bird was a Least Bell’s Vireo (V. b. pusillus).
