Adult male Canvasback ahead of a group of Northern Shovelers.

Handsome adult male looking great in the early morning sunlight. Hanging out with a group of northern shovelers. It was straight ahead of the observation area at the edge of the watery, grassy area at the front of the "island" until it flushed. I think it landed in the back of the marsh. Note that the back of the marsh now has large areas that are visible with a scope or long camera lens now that the vegetation has died back.
