Even though it is a horrific photo, it shows the bird gliding, or soaring, which was one of the things that differentiated the bird from other Chaeturas.
Detalles de la observación
SIngle bird flying over the clearing at the Turtle Mountain camp. When compared to Band-rumped and Gray-rumped seen around the main hotel clearing, it was a bit larger, darker below, and did not have a clear band on lower back. Most distinctive was the flight, which was much less flutttery than Gray-rumped, with more gliding and soaring. Local expert Ron Allicock confirmed ID.
