Lifer! Was looking at something else along the main road/trail when one member of a pair of owls close by caught my eye. I watched the two at length and later found a separate group of three. All birds wary but not particularly afraid. Field notes: front side mottled brown, sort of approaching stripes but more just speckled, not dark lines, vent appeared more clean
