Detalles de la observación
First NJ record! Immature found earlier by Tom Johnson and George Armistead in yards at the dead-end of Delaware Ave and then refound in the dunes halfway down to the Fishing Creek outflow, which is where we saw it. Foraging low in brush and on the ground, slowly moving through the dune scrub. Most often seen on the ground during this visit, and very successfully catching moths and other insects the whole time. Being tracked by birders the entire time, so we observed the bird for well over 10 minutes altogether. Calling often. Tail-wagging constantly. Larger, thick-bodied warbler with white eye arcs, brownish-gray topsides and pale yellow undersides. Thin black streaking throughout. White undertail coverts. Photos.
