Detalles de la observación
I originally thought I had an Audubon’s based on probability but it looked bigger and had a white rump band in flight. Photos show the neat, dark cap and white neck. Upperparts were gray-brown when the light hit it and the wings were long and narrow, the bill was black. I first saw it in the surf very close to shore at 7:50. I thought it might be injured but as I got closer, it took off and banked, then flew off in the direction of Cumberland Island. I did not see it again and I stayed until dark.
