Detalles de la observación
I arrived at the Bone Yard Draw about 11 am after birding MO Ranch all morning as part of the West Kerr CBC. I had been called the night before to inform me of the Eagles being seen at this site so decided to take my lunch break there- About a 10 minute drive. Just after exiting by truck, I saw this large rapture flying from the bluff above the Guadalupe River West Fork. I quickly grabbed my camera and took three pictures before my attention was drawn to a Common Raven attacking another large rapture to my south - see Bald Eagle picture with Common Raven. I believe these unedited picture (2,3) clearly show that this is the Golden Eagle earlier reported by the previous evening group sighting. Picture #1 is a cropped picture of #2 showing more detail. The golden head and feathering extending to the neck and lack of any other wing pattern should eliminate a Bald Eagle, and most likely this is either a sub-adult or Adult since the picture does not show any more detail.
