2 audio recordings of a single individual giving 2 section song with a strongly buzzy first section (audio joined together with a 1 second silenced transition at 0:44). Gusty wind during both recordings but close proximity allowed for quality audio.
Detalles de la observación
Including an individual near north platform singing a 2 section song with a very buzzy first section. Update: This bird has bothered me quite a bit in hindsight, especially so after seeing what the song looked like on a spectrogram while editing the audio. While audio recording this bird in the field there was nothing that grabbed my attention visually that suggested hybridization but I was highly focused on getting audio of this interesting song and with the wind, a somewhat uncooperative subject, and perhaps an overconfidence on my part that I would've noticed any plumage oddities with minimal effort, I never did study this bird nearly as closely as I should have. I also never attempted using playback of Clay-colored Sparrow or attempt to take any photos. In hindsight a very strange and upsettingly lackluster effort overall on my part. The bird appeared to be on territory so hopefully it'll continue.
