Detalles de la observación
Juvenile by pale rump - During the mid-morning, a swallow appeared over the summit and flew towards us and passed by on our NW side. The swallow was medium-sized, with an obvious pale-tan rump and overall blue/black uppersides. The head was entirely dark blue/black, with a dark reddish throat and it generally appeared hooded. The underside was pale. Many photos taken. Although this is the second latest fall record for Cliff Swallow in MN (and we haven't recorded one since September 20th this fall), we feel that the field marks present (and as shown in photos) do not suggest that this was a Cave Swallow....a would-be first MN record, but perhaps more likely in late October than a Cliff Swallow.
