Two successive cuts of the spontaneous calls of Bolivian Recurvebill from the undergrowth of forest (with some small-leafed bamboo) along the entrance road not far from the far end of the Senda Loro. There were 2 birds, and one approached after playback of this recording, but they never gave their long trill. And the bird that responded was up surprisingly high—about 25’—in viny tangles. Cicadas wind up a couple of times, and Plumbeous Pigeons and Plush-crested Jays call in the background. Recorded using a Fostex FR-2LE with a Sennheiser ME67 shotgun mic with K6 power module and a Rycote windscreen.
Detalles de la observación
Two birds were calling from viny tangles along the road near the exit of the Senda Loro. I recorded one and, not being sure what it was, played back the calls. That elicited a response by one bird that flew in nearby, up ca. 25' in a viny tangle, where it was foraging. Something like 15 minutes later, it called again and gave its long call = song. Recordings.
