Photos and digiscoped video; fairly close to shore straight out from the north end of the entrance road, just west of the lighthouse. Seemed to be alone - not really with the nearby group of Red-breasted Mergansers. Dark brown bodied and lighter colored head/neck diving duck with black wedge-shaped bill with indistinct white spot at base and light line arcing from eye back down neck; female based on scalloped appearance from the brown margins on dark feathers.
