Detalles de la observación
Seen first on ~E/W dike between NE and SE ponds, in about middle. Met non-birding photographer who seemed interested, but clearly unaware of species. After taking some pictures, he returned to parking area, and then walked (fairly rapidly) twice around the entire pond perimeter trail, taking photos and spooking up ducks as he walked. He then left the WTP before me. Plovers spooked from initial location and flew to ~N/S dike between NW and NE ponds, S of the large roosting mallard flock. All three plovers were there when I left. Two probable immature (non-breeding, anyway) birds. Distinct supercillium, small bill compared to Black-bellied, wings extending beyond tail, streaking on flanks and mottling on chest. distinct brownish cap, and seemed longer necked and smaller headed to me. One bird spread it's wings overhead, showing no "black armpits).. Comparison images
