Detalles de la observación
At first I thought this was a sick or injured White-breasted Nuthatch as it was hiding in the shrubs by the creek near the cafe, and all I could see was its white face and black crown. (Also, an adult White-breasted Nuthatch was nearby.) However, when it ran out, I saw that it had the shape of a small quail with bright orange legs. White body with black markings. The only quail I could find to match its tuxedo like appearance was a “Celadon Tuxedo Coturnix Quail,” which comes up on Ebird as Common Quail. Poor photos; this bird was fast and did not want to be seen.
