Detalles de la observación
Beautiful immature bird...many photos. This bird was perhaps slightly larger than the Solitary Sandpiper it was with. Mid brown scapulars/coverts with crisp buff and white edging, two white scapular lines, a warm buff breast with light streaking at the neck sides; tertials with rather broad buff edges. A bright reddish cap with darker streaking; light brownish auricular, broad whitish supercilium. Bright yellow legs, yellowish base of moderately long bill. Remarkably, this bird was in the exact same shoreline location of the exact same pond where I found Montana's first individual of this species in November 2002. Watched it for about 15 minutes, before it was flushed by a passing Northern Harrier. I believe it left the pond, and I searched three other nearby wetlands to no avail looking to relocate it (we did find multiple Pectoral Sandpipers).
