Continuing. Toward S end of gravel pits—hanging around the Boeing 400 trailer thing and the rusted boat (Nanuq). Quite flighty. Photos to come. A remarkable bird, and one that I had never heard of until this morning! Interestingly, although I know nothing of molt strategies away from the US this bird looks just as I would expect an SY male to look, with very worn juvenile flight feathers contrasting with a fresher alternate plumage. I looked the bird up and apparently it's monotypic, but I still wonder if there's any way to guess where in the Old World this bird came from
