Detalles de la observación
Godwit associating with male Bar-tailed Godwit (BLTG). Size was at least 20% larger, long bill was bicolored unlike BLTG. Overall plumage was pale orange on head and neck, with pale orange spotting on upper breast, whitish lower belly and under-tail coverts with some gray barring on under-tail coverts. Wing grayish, back blackish, upper parts generally marbled. In flight tail appeared mostly white with fine black barring in outer half like BLTG. Lacked pale rump typical of BLTG. Wing pattern resembled BLTG. Field marks are consistent with 1st generation female hybrid Bar-tailed Godwit X Black-tailed Godwit. See photos. Showed aggressive behavior towards a female BLTG as if defending male BLTG from female. More photos pending.
