Comentarios

A long compilation recording of a pair of birds responding to playback. The first cut is of song duet from both male (the more liquid song) and female (the buzzier one) birds, with a few call notes from the male thrown in. In this cut both birds were perched on the same rock within a foot of each other. During the observation, when one bird of the pair flew the other typically flew to follow it, though at times they would sing from either side of me. Playback of the male song would produce a strong response from the male bird, but little or none from the female, while playback of female song would produce a strong response from the female and a moderate response from the male. The second cut is of song from the female of the pair, singing from the top of a large boulder. The third cut is of pair duet, singing from the same large boulder within a few feet of each other. The fourth cut is of calls from the female of the pair, calling from the top of a nearby juniper, and then moving to the top of a large boulder. The final cut is of songs from the male of the pair, with the female faintly audible in the middle of the cut, and more loudly so near the end.
