Detalles de la observación
Catching bugs, on the rocks, Waneka dam. EDIT [Mar. 19, 2021]: In light of the recently reported Black Phoebe at Waneka Lake, I am wondering if we might revisit this phoebe of mine from Mar. 13. I didn't have my regular camera at the time of the sighting, and only got this cell phone video. I don't think this is a Black Phoebe. But it is quite dark for a Say's Phoebe, and the white belly pinching up along the sagittal plane (see screen-grab) is indeed suggestive of Black Phoebe. Could this be a hybrid? I heard it call twice, two rather soft, indeterminate whistles that I would have said were downslurred. No audio recording, however, so I ascribe essentially no meaning to my recollection of what I heard.
