Detalles de la observación
I first thought red-naped sapsucker, a species I see around here in the summer. But they supposedly leave for the winter. Research suggests that juvenile looking birds after September are probably yellow-bellied sapsuckers, and this one looks like a hatch year. Flew into the tree 15-20 feet from me, worked its way up to the top, probing. Stayed at the top for 3 minutes or so then flew off. Found near the corner of 200 North and 200 East. Accepted by Utah Bird Record Committee, submission number 2020-83.
