Detalles de la observación
When I heard one of these whistling right beside the road, I had to resist the urge to run and grab my camera... but then there it was, an inconspicuous and distinctly sedentary looking lump nestled on a dead branch, craning up to peer around!! That was it; I was almost back at the house, so I quickly grabbed my camera and hiked back up... and there it still was, as happy as ever!! Creeping closer did nothing to alarm it, but then things got complicated by the fury of a Robin. Without much hope, I set off in the vague direction the Cuckoo had gone... and then it started calling virtually right on top of me!! I looked about frantically, ruing the inherent inconspicuousness of these birds... and finally I saw the emerald green bundle sitting back on to me, alert but unworried, and thus began a truly memorable photoshoot. It was a very rare feeling to leave the bird there eventually and think to myself that I'd just had an all-time best experience with such a gorgeous little gem!!
